Tequila Tasting and Food Pairing 20 Minutes from Cancún
Tequila University is a 90-minute guided tequila tasting at La Sirena in Puerto Morelos, led by a Maestro Tequilero. You taste five or more artisanal tequilas, from blanco and reposado to añejo, paired with a five-course chef menu. Classes run daily at 4 pm except Wednesday. $2,800 MXN per person, minimum two guests.
Our Maestro Tequilero walks you through the agave, the craft, and the aromas that make every pour different, while our chef serves a dish created to match each glass.
Come with your partner, celebrate a birthday, bring your wedding party, or book the whole group. You will leave knowing tequila, not just drinking it.
This is not a quick tasting. Tequila University is a comprehensive tequila course for distinguished palates, held in a private area of the restaurant with your own chef cooking for your class.

Where is Tequila University held?
At La Sirena in Puerto Morelos, on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, about 20 minutes south of Cancún International Airport, between Cancún and Playa del Carmen.
When are classes?
Daily at 4:00 PM, every day except Wednesday. Classes are by reservation only, with at least 24 hours notice.
How much does it cost?
$2,800 MXN per person (about US$160), with a minimum of 2 guests.
What is included?
A comprehensive tequila course led by our Maestro Tequilero, five or more artisanal tequilas (blanco, reposado, añejo and more), 5 gourmet pairings prepared by your private chef (4 savory and 1 sweet), a private area of the restaurant reserved for your class, your Tequila University diploma, and an official fitted T-shirt.
How long is the class?
Plan on about 90 minutes.
Can we book a private class for our group?
Yes. We host private classes for wedding groups, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate and incentive groups, and private celebrations, with no minimum group size. Private classes are paid in full when booked. Use the request form above and we will reply within 24 hours.
Can you arrange transportation?
Yes. We can quote group transportation to and from hotels in Cancún and the Riviera Maya.
Can you accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions?
Yes. Let us know when you book and our chef will adjust your pairings.
Is mezcal included?
Tequila University is a tequila-only class, focused on blue agave and the craft behind every style.
Is there an age requirement?
Guests must be 18 or older.
